I have a feeling it'll appeal to you, Brian.

Awww :kisscheek: Life has been seriously getting on top of me this last few months. Between that and being distracted by other fandoms *glares at ResDogs* I'm stretched thin with my remaining energy. (I think I owe you an email, tbh!)

Oh yes, but I still picture Bilbo being there instead of Watson but Martin just gives both characters so much of himself, it's genuis acting. First I watched elementary and thought it was a pretty good modern adaption of Holmes but then I tried out Sherlock and was flashed. And yes, Mycroft is perfectly written and hit on the nail from what we know of the books from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
If you love Mycroft, you will adore the season finale (and possibly also the ending of the series) of season 4.
And I love Mary, she is just awesome.
And I think that Twitter and Holmes just work so well together.

My favourite character in "Sherlock" is honestly Lestrade - he's so relatable, and Rupert Graves is just so funny :lol2:

I've been telling myself for weeks to watch other stuff Rupert Graves has done, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Some of the funniest ("Is that why you're calling yourself Greg?") and sweetest (the hugging incident post-Reichenbach) scenes happen with Lestrade. :nice:

I both love and hate Mycroft.

I liked Mary, but I didn't like the direction things went.

The hug was maybe my single favourite moment of the whole series, tbh. It was so sweet and unexpected.

Lestrade is a good guy for sure but he seems so insignificant in this show, I don't really know yet if I like him or not. Other character like Molly Hooper who are not part of Doyles "cast" are so much more important so Lestrade kind of falls down.

Lestrade is definitely not a main role, but I just thoroughly enjoy him whenever he pops up.

I'm frustrated :banghead: right now by a review that appears to be reviewing more where the reviewer thinks a series is going rather than where it says in the freakin' series description it's going. Criqitue me, sure, but critique what I'm actually doing, not what you think I'm doing!

Look at it as an opportunity to say, "Ha ha, you're wrong" and be fully justified in doing it.

It's not your fault that someone failed at reading.

When I pointed it out, to their credit, they did come back and read and respond to what I actually wrote and not what they assumed; it hasn't entirely changed their mind about the series, but at least they're responding to the series as it exists, not the series as they assume it is supposed to pan out. I won't belabour it, but it was in part upsetting because it felt like they had made it into an us/them situation, and put me firmly on the side to which I know (after a lot of soul searching) I most definitely don't belong, which frankly made me feel like complete crap. I'm sure that wasn't their intention, but intention is not much comfort when you are in tears.

I'm still a little upset about the whole thing, but at least they had the decency not to ignore me when I said hey, look, you've misunderstood this series, for which I'm grateful and have thanked them.

(Honestly, part of me in this situation does wanna say CAN YOU NOT READ??!?, but I'm not good with confrontation anyway, and it would've just upset me more. So I'm glad that approaching them the way I did was sufficient at least to make them think.)

Thank youse! I spent my birthday with my mum then went with her to my bro's over the weekend. I'm pretty knackered, but we had a nice weekend.
