The time he told Abby that he'd been thinking of finding a new home for Jethro

In retrospect, Tim probably should have picked a different time to bring it up with her, and maybe he should have chosen his words more carefully. Abby had been in a foul mood all day and, to top it all off, she hadn't had any Caf-Pow! in a while. Tim knew better than to approach Abby at times like that, but for some reason he had ignored all the signs and told her straight out.

The fall-out had been worse than he could have ever anticipated. Abby had yelled at him for several minutes and in the end Tim had said he would keep the dog just to make her calm down. He had tried to tell her the reasons for wanting to find a new home for Jethro though. Even though Tim had come to love the dog, he always felt guilty that he had to leave Jethro home alone for so long because of his working hours. The dog was getting bored, and a bored Jethro sometimes meant a destructive Jethro. Tim had hired a kid who took Jethro for a walk a few times a day, but that could only keep the dog occupied for so long. It really would be for the best if Jethro could be put with a family who would spend lots of time with him every day after all, but Abby refused to listen. Afterward, she had refused to talk to Tim for weeks and even long after she started talking to him again, she would often bring it up.

In the end, Tim had found the second-best solution and started co-owning Jethro with an elderly couple who lived in his neighborhood. Jethro got the company and attention he needed and Tim got to have a happier dog home with him those days it was his turn to take care of Jethro. When he found the courage to tell Abby and she saw the changes in the dog, she agreed that Tim had been right, but she never really forgave him for mentioning giving up the dog completely.

The time he told Tony that he'd once kissed his 60 years old teacher Mrs. Henley on the lips

That little tidbit provided Tony with teasing material for months. It didn't matter that Tim had been 10 years old at the time and that he had been dared to do it, Tony still took every opportunity to ask him what it had been like to date an older woman, or how it had been when he was Mrs. Henley's boy toy. Tim had tried to make Tony stop by pointing out that Tony himself had dated his music teacher once, but Tony had brushed it off as it not being the same thing and continued teasing him. After a while, Tony thankfully stopped, but Tim had learned to never freely offer Tony embarrassing memories from his childhood ever again.

The time he overslept and missed the job interview which could have got him the summer job of his dreams

Tim didn’t stop berating himself for that one for years.

One of his MIT professors had arranged a contest one year and the grand prize had been a job interview which could lead to an opportunity to work during the summer for a company that made computers and computer components. Tim had wanted that job more than anything since it meant he would get to be paid while doing something he really loved to do. He had worked hard all year to win the contest and when he actually won he felt as if he was a huge step closer to have one of his dreams come true. Unfortunately, he had forgotten to set the alarm the night before the big day and had woken up two hours after he was supposed to be in for his interview. He had rushed to the company as fast as he could, hoping against hope that he would be given a second chance, but when he got there, he found out that the job had gone to someone else.

After that, he always made sure to check his alarm at least twice the night before a job interview

The time he didn't ask Julia Wolf to go to the prom with him

Tim had been nursing a crush on Julia for ages, but since he had skipped a few classes, he was a couple of years younger than her. She was also one of the most beautiful girls in school and he was sure that she'd never consider a skinny, younger kid as her prom date. He still toyed with the thought of asking her right up until prom night, and he was close to asking her several times, but he always bailed out at the last second.

After the prom, he realized that he should just have asked her. Sure, she might have turned him down or laughed at him for trying and then turned him down, but she also could have actually said yes and now he'd never know.

The time he stayed home babysitting Sarah on a Friday night instead of going to the movies with his friends

Tim had been so angry when his Mom told him that he had to stay home. He had been looking forward to going to the movies all week, but instead he had to look after Sarah while his parents went out to celebrate their anniversary. He had tried to protest, but his Dad told him that it was his duty as an older brother to stay home and that had been the end of the discussion.

After his parents left, Tim had tried to find reasons to be angry at Sarah for his bad luck, but soon he found that he couldn't. He knew none of it was her fault, so instead of being mad, he decided to do the best of the situation. They had played games and watched a movie, and Tim had even read Sarah a bedtime story before putting her to bed. Despite everything, he had enjoyed himself and even managed to get a little closer to Sarah. When he later found out that the movie he had planned to see had been the worst movie ever, Tim had decided that babysitting his sister hadn't been so bad after all.
